Me, you and a Apple Cobbler

Today was the best day of my life!

The last time I heard my son’s voice was on Monday, July 11th. He said, “I love you, mom.” That was two weeks ago. Do you understand how long that is in mom days?

Well, tonight, the wait was over. Finally, my boy was able to call us and chat for 20 minutes.

I knew he would be-able to call today, so anticipation was high. I cannot tell you how many times I checked my phone so that I could make sure my ringer was on. I could barely get any work done, and when my phone did ring, and it wasn’t him, I wanted to scream bloody murder.

But at 8 pm I heard his sweet voice. When I answered my phone, I heard him immediately laugh when I said hello.

He said, “Hi, mom, it’s me.”

My heart turned to mush; it may or may not have melted on the ground. Once I got myself together, I screamed for everyone to gather around.

We laughed about nothing and discussed when we will be flying to see him so we can shower him with hugs, presents, and kisses. Then his greedy butt said, “mom, I can’t wait for you to make an apple cobbler.”

Honey boy, when I see you, I’ll make you one for each day I’m with you!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. This is such a sweet post. As a mom, I can relate to this purest form of genuine love between a mother and her son. Loved it, dear.

    1. Thank you Tre! He giggled the whole time. So I knew he was missing us so much. I held my tears back until I hung up. Nothing but joy this time 😍🙌🏽

  2. Well, you better get to slicing those apples my dear!!! 🍎🍏🍎🍏🍎 That’s gonna be some kind of apple cobbler. 😋 What a wonderful and warm “checkup” between you and your son. Probably the both of you have been a hot mess since he left, but he just didn’t want to tell you. 😉😊🤗 Now you can breathe a little softer. 🙆🏼‍♀️🙆🏼‍♀️🙆🏼‍♀️

    1. To tell you the truth my Husband is probably the worst one out of all of us🤣 He keeps saying “I can’t believe my little buddy is gone”. Mind you little buddy is 6’4 280 pounds. But he still sees his little running buddy.

But I can’t wait to slice those apples up 😍😍

      1. C’mon now, the both of you are a hot mess? 😲🙀😜 Lord, I’m praying for y’all. 🙏🏼 Do we need to chip in for some counseling sessions? When is Little Buddy coming home? 🤔

      2. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can’t lie, we are both a mess!!! We go and see him in a month. Football season is tough for him but after that he’ll have a little more free time. At this point I’m just happy to hear his voice whenever I want!

But you know we’ll be at almost every game and hanging out with him as much as we can.🙌🏽

      3. Belladonna, I wouldn’t expect anything different! I know you’re a proud parent and I know you and your hubby will be there decked out in all of your fan attire! Support means a lot to kids. Your children are certainly not shortchanged in that regard! 🏈📣🏈📢🏈 Booyah! 🤜🏼🤛🏼

      4. Just let it go sistah. 🤪 You ain’t going to an opera! 🧐 Look cute, but act the fool! Just sayin’. This is college football, 🏈 so everyone acts off their rockers and no body else judges cause they are actin’ the fool too!!! 😝

  3. There’s nothing sweeter to a mama’s heart than having their kid miss home and the love you provide that fills their bellies. I’m so glad you got to talk to him!

    1. You are so right!!!! I felt so loved last night. Thank you so much LaShelle. Your words mean so much to me.
I hope you have a great night and a wonderful Wednesday ♥️
