Red Flag Alert

Well, look at that red flag flying!

Please join me every Thursday as I journey into the red flag zone.I know we all see them, but some of us are color blind. Those red flags look like every color but RED!

Please let me introduce you to the meaning of red flag.

RED FLAG~Definitions of RED FLAG

Noun; a flag that serves as a warning signal ~ “we didn’t swim at the beach because the red flag was up.” ~

Noun; something that irritates or demands immediate action ~” doing that is like waving a red flag in front of a bull”~

Noun; the emblem of socialist revolution

Toxic Trait

Sometimes when I’m listening to people talk, I think, wow, you’re full of crap. The words coming out of your mouth are meaningless mumbo jumbo. I don’t say it, but my expressions speak for themselves.

Let me know your thoughts and if you find this trait toxic.

The Scenario

We will call her Jayden. Jayden used her tears to get her out of every situation she found herself in. She figured crying and hyperventilating would ultimately win people over in her favor. However, when that tactic didn’t work, she constantly reminded people that she was a good person.

Actually, her exact words would be, “Why is this happening to me? I’m such a good person”. Every other sentence would end with “I’m a good person.”

The truth of a good person

If who you are or what you do is good, why do you have to remind others of that? Perhaps you’re not reminding others, but you are trying to convince yourself.

Red Flag

This is a red flag for sure. However, Jayden feels that she has to remind others that she is a good person in hopes that you will overlook her terrible actions. Instead of simply doing right and treating people as we deserve to be treated, she chooses to be Queen B and treat others like her unpaid help.

The constant need to say “I’m a good person” just may be a red flag. So instead of talking about it, be about it. Let your actions and character speak for themselves.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. Ah, this is a good pint. I also always watch for behavior matching words, as when they are incongruent, you much must be careful. Excllent post!

    1. Thank you so much Jeff!
I agree, watching someone’s actions or behavior will tell you all you need to know.
      Appreciate you stopping by Jeff!
