The angry teens; Awaken from their slumber

Oh, good morning, my sweets (by the way, it’s 12:15)!

How did you sleep last night?

She groans with her dog in her arms and gives me a look of confusion that reads, “who are you, and why are you talking to me.”

Then she slowly blinks and suddenly realizes it’s her mother speaking to her.

So with much hesitation, she answers, “pretty good.”

She then turns on the television to catch her sports highlights delivered by the one and only Shannon Sharp and Skip Bayless. By the way, you can catch them live every morning, but as you can see, she doesn’t wake up until well after noon, soooooo, replay it is.

Meanwhile, as she’s sitting there looking grumpy at the screen, we have her greedy cranky teenage brother, that has made it down to the kitchen for the third time this morning. Mind you, he’s already eaten breakfast twice, but he’s come back for more.

So I look at him and say, “Hey, baby boy”!

He replies with a low, slurred, jumbled-up mumble, “Ohheymom.”

He then grabs his keys, and off to the gym he goes but not without saying, “I’ll be back.”

And I’m thinking, OH JOY. I can’t wait to see that cheerful face.

Summer break, the joy it brings.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!
