JUNE Mental Health Check

It’s okay not to be okay!

How are you doing today?

We walk around acting like everything is fine when deep down, we are holding on to life by a thread. We offer everyone fake smiles, a make-believe pep in our steps, and all the while, it feels as though a knife is piercing through our heart.

That knife will stay planted in your heart until you decide to pull it out. Therefore, we must get comfortable dealing with situations that may hold us hostage so we can put an end to our pain.

I hope that June finds all of you well, but if it isn’t, know that that’s okay. Reach out to someone you feel comfortable with and vent. Vent until you can’t vent anyone. People who genuinely love you will create a safe, nonjudgemental place for you to let loose. You’ll be able to express your hurt and confusion and begin to heal.

So let’s not walk around pretending that all is well. It’s okay not to be okay.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. 🤍 I called out from work today, though, so I could work on getting better. I’m emotionally off-kilter, and trying to do what I do today was only going to make things worse.

  3. Thanks for sharing your compassion and concern Belladonna, because we all need a self-evaluation mental health checkup every now and then, 🤒😱😷 even if we THINK we are ok. Great reminder girlfriend! 👍🏼🙌🏼👏🏼

  4. today I just went out and did what I love doing, but yeah, you’re right, and some point, well, I’ve lived a life others thought I should have, acted based on not letting others down, fitting in, not being me….not sure what I’m waiting for

  5. Hydrating yourself and making sure that you’re getting enough water at each stage of the day is something that’s always going to be important. If you’re not giving your body the water and hydration it needs, you’re going to get headaches, lose focus, and generally feel worse during the day.

    1. Absolutely! But when you’re depressed all the knowledge you have goes right out the window! Ughhh.. I hate that I made a huge mistake of not treating my body the way I know how but lesson learned!
