How often do you feel beautiful?
Chances are, you said not very often. But, on the other hand, it’s very common to feel like you could look better, you could be in better shape, you could have a better hairstyle, and so on and on.
But the bigger question is why? Why do you feel that way?
Is it because of:
- Society
- Childhood
- Past bad relationships
- Environment
- Comparisons
Society
Social media, television, music, and the beauty industry are filled with gorgeous people. They give us the best of the best. And dare us to compete. But how can we compete against something that isn’t real? The amount of editing that goes into making the gorgeousness stand out is something that the average person doesn’t have access to.
Your childhood
Unfortunately, telling your kids, they are beautiful isn’t a must. However, you must:
- give them shelter
- feed them
- send them to school
- cloth them
- keep them safe
But telling them you love them and that they are beautiful is merely optional. It shouldn’t be, but it is. Making sure your kids have high self-esteem should be just as important as getting them to school providing shelter and food. Because if we aren’t told positive things to us, then there is a slim chance of self-love being present.
Past relationships
Entering a relationship prematurely can significantly impact how you see yourself, especially if you’re a teenager. Unfortunately, the damage done by a young ignorant boy or girl can take years to undo.
Environment
The place you call home may be filled with superficial people that try their hardest to keep up with the Joneses—never giving compliments because they feel as though giving them will in some way diminish their attractiveness.
Comparisons
Running the risk of comparing yourself to others is a risk that no one should take. Constant comparison will only stunt your growth. Being fixated on what others are doing, saying, wearing, and achieving is stealing time that should be spent on yourself.
Whichever category you find yourself in, break out of it by reminding yourself that you are BEAUTIFUL! There isn’t anyone lucky enough to be you.
Find comfort in loving who you are and start feeling rich in your skin. You are beautiful every day…all day, don’t allow anyone to tell you different!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Environment and comparison are the main issues for in my life. I hope I can overcome that this year and years to come.
