The Wait Is over ~September 10th~

Friday’s are rolling around faster than ever….TIME SLOW DOWN!

4-0 Here we come!

I told you all about the great football tips that I gave to my son. Well turns out he did listen to me. Yes, I had the football positions all wrong, but none-the-less I told him to use his hands more, and he did.

When I tell you that his 265-pound body was flinging boys all around!!!! I yelled so much that my voice went out and didn’t come back fully until Wednesday.

All week I sounded like a teenage boy going through puberty. My family made jokes all week. And here I go again today.

This year is different for several reasons. But the main thing that sticks out is my son’s confidence. We always tell our kids that we will support them in absolutely anything they choose to do. The only thing we ask is, they give it they’re all. We could care less if they win or lose; we want them to have fun and play hard.

For the past few years, my son has gone through a significant growth spurt. In 2 years, he went from 5’11”- 6′-4″, which left him fighting with his body. He told me that he was mentally frustrated because his body wouldn’t do what he wanted. So my husband trained with him every day (I’m trying to hold back tears). His legs were slightly turned in, and he didn’t have the power to jump as high as he desired.

My husband kept telling him, “be patient and keep trying.”

My son did just that.

So yesterday, while we were eating dinner, I asked him how he felt about the upcoming game, and his exact words were “CONFIDENT.”

That’s all my heart needed for him to say!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!
