Chapter 45….. Birthday Girl

Chapter 45 has shown up!

I could not be more excited to see this chapter. I feel confident, bold, wise, better off, and brand new.

On Saturday, July 17th, I turned 45, and this was the best day of my life. Something extravagant happened, and it’s never happened before, well, at least not to me. 

I lived to see 45! I pray that I hit another 40 or so more moments like this. I swear the older I get, the more I appreciate it. There isn’t anything anyone can say or do that will make me feel old, out of touch, or wishing I was younger. My younger years groomed me for who I am today, and you would have to pull me as I kick and scream to get me to go through that again. I loved the lessons that I learned but would not want to redo them!

So with that being said… I will take my lessons and run…run right into this new chapter.

My kids and my husband asked me if I feel different. Usually, I would say no, but I can’t utter those words this year. Mostly because I know of way too many people that were not honored to see year 45, and for whatever reason, I was given that blessing. And not mention the ones that are here but in search of what I already have; 

  • Kids that are healthy, intelligent, and a blast to be around
  • A husband that continues to amaze me(approaching our 21st anniversary).
  • PEACE

Just a few of my significant blessings.

But most of all, I have common sense. I know we all think we do. But we don’t. Common sense grows over time. After a while, you get the things that use to go over your head. When you get older, you pay attention to detail, remain a little on the observant side while you sip your tea. 

Man, oh man, how good it feels to reach that point. No longer need to be in the foreground but remain in the back. 

Observing and learning. 

Learning and growing. 

Growing and getting better

Getting better and gaining peace

Gaining peace and living life

I’m looking forward to seeing what all unfolds during “Chapter 45.

    1. Thank you girlie! I had a blast and I’m going to continue that good feeling for the restof the year. Last year was a little rough but I made it. We all made it.

  10. Happy Birthday! 45 is a wonderful age; I’m a little sorry I squandered my year moaning about being “old.” (I had absolutely no idea back then….)

    1. I did that when I turned 30! I actually thought that was old and little did I know, I was just getting started.

      3. 😂😉, belladonna have a wonderful morning. It’s freezing cold here. I’m just wrapping up things with my soft, sweet and sometimes very fragile family, including myself, then I’m going to wrap myself up and listen to some good music to fill up my heart.

  15. Girlfriend, I applaud your epiphanies and reflections. 👏🏼 I agree with you on all fronts, because on the first day of this month I reached the young age of 63. There were so many friends and cousins who never saw the light of day at the age I reached. I appreciate your dedication to humility and blessed appreciation of who you are and who you continue to evolve into. 🤗
