You’re Not Dead Yet!

Have you ever been so depressed that you forgot to live?

I mean the type of depressed where it hurts to take a breath. Regretfully you breathe in and out wondering why you are still here?

I hope I’m not alone on this!

For almost 10 years, I lost my WHY.

I was living for everyone around me, and I forgot to live for myself. In between running errands, cooking, cleaning, and making sure everyone was okay, I stopped checking on me. I stopped doing the one thing that has always made my soul come alive.

I stopped dancing. I told myself, oh, I’m too old to do that, and it’s time to move on. Funny thing is I said the same thing about writing. Yet here I am and loving every minute of it and not to mention I’m meeting the most amazing people.

Take a minute and ask yourself the following:

Am I happy with the direction my life is going?

Did I give up on me?

Do I feel like it’s selfish to follow my heart?

Are you afraid to step towards this new path?

My heart bleeds for anyone that feels stuck and not sure how to get unstuck. You know what you want, but you might not be sure how to get it. But the best thing you can do is to ask someone you trust and love to listen to your vision. Then write it out so that vision can come to life. Once you can visualize it, your goals seem doable.

Your fears and self-doubt subside once you speak life into your desired plan.

Yes, life happens, and as an adult, we tend to put ourselves on the back burner because we run out time. Instead, we sit and daydream and wonder what it would be like to step outside the box and do something new. We continuously second guess our talents and think lightly of our gifts that we were blessed with.

I know it’s hard to put yourself first when you are so used to turning your light off just to turn someone else’s on. However, just take one baby step today that we give you a flicker of hope. Then that hope will start to awaken that inner WHY.

That WHY will light flames in your soul.

Reminding you, you’re not dead yet!

You could have chosen any blog, to read but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

I am there right now! But not depressed. Well, a bit tonight, but it’s only because I’m tired from pursuing my dream with a passion. And that’s a good thing. We can do this, friend! We can be grateful for what we have and also go for our dreams. Keep going!!!!

  2. Great post. I got stuck when my children were small. Then, I went back to school and got a job I didn’t like. I found myself stuck again. About ten years ago, I started writing. Now I’m unstuck.
