I tried to avoid the green monster, and I almost got away with it!
Then life happened and left me digging for healthy snacks, and the first recommendation was…… the GREEN MONSTER. So I am now drinking 16-18 ounces once a day, and I LOVE IT.
Go Green First Thing
As soon as I get up in the morning, I crave the monster, and it’s funny because I didn’t know until a few days ago that you should drink this first thing in the morning. I’m always left amazed at the human body. If we listen to it, then we will be healthier externally as well as internally.
I like, so many others will ignore the “check engine light” and continue to go about my day and say I’ll go to the doctor tomorrow or I’ll start eating super clean on “Monday.” And why is Monday are go to day? If you know you are sluggish, need to lose weight, need more sleep, or in desperate need of exercise, why wait until Monday. When we wait, our problem will worsen, and we will continue to dig ourselves into a deeper and deeper hole.
Morning Green Juice
As soon as your body awakens from its nightly slumber, you need to pour antioxidants into your system. When you do that, your body will absorb the nutrients quickly, unlike taking them with a meal. When you choose to drink it with a cooked meal, some of the nutrients will be lost to the bacteria in your gut. Now I have paired green juice with a meatless salad, and that was fine to do. But it’s best if you drink it in the morning and at least an hour before coffee or your next meal.
- 2 cups of spinach
- 4-5 ounces of orange juice
- Enough water to make to smooth
- High in antioxidants
- improve your eyesight
- Decrease cancer cell growth
- Reduce blood pressure
- Promote healthy hair and skin
If you are looking to lose a little weight, this is a great go-to because it’s low in caloric intake and will keep you feeling satisfied.
So Remember, Go Green First Thing!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Sounds good, but I just wonder, is it sugar free? Orange juice has loads of sugar, but I just heard one company is making a sugar-free orange juice…maybe it was Sunkist? I can’t remember, but if I try this drink, it will be with that! Then I can sweeten it myself with Stevia, a natural sweetener that does not affect your blood sugar and is safe for diabetics.
As long as the orange has the potassium then you should be fine with sugar free. The amount of potassium tHats recommended for our daily intake is quiet hard to meet so this is a fantastic way of ensuring that.
Let me know if you try it and if you like it
How does it taste?
And I can see it is working for you.
Have a beautiful Sunday evening.
Thank you so much! I feel good knowing that I’m making such positive food choices.
I was highly skeptical because of the spinach but I am pleasantly surprised with the taste. If you like orange juice then you we love the green monster ♥️
Cool. I will have to give it a try.
Oh good!!! Please let me know when you try it 😍
Haha, the green monster over here was Absinthe! 😉
I felt the same as I started my green juice venture but it’s amazing and I too came to crave it after drinking it a few times. I could literally feel the good entering my body. You go, so proud of you. 💙
Yes!!! That’s exactly it. You can feel the good entering your body. So freakin grateful😍😍😍 and proud of you too beautiful
I’ve always heard that you couldn’t taste the greens for the orange juice. I’ve never had the chance to try it but I think I just might do it! Love this post, Bella! <3
Thank you!!!!! It’s so good
Cut the carbs. It’s just math even though you don’t think numbers while you are eating. Just 100 calories less per day (1 slice of toast) will allow you to lose 12 pounds in a year. Also get a pedometer and aim for 12 -13 thousand steps a day, (4 million steps per year). That’s what I do and I don’t gain any weight. I have stopped weighing myself.
Good Job! Yes I get about 11,000- 13,000 steps a day. I stopped counting calories about 10 years ago after my last child.
I don’t recommend staying away from carbs or any foods that you love but I do promote balance. I went from 210 to 155 with balance. Just something I know I could do for the rest of my life. But everyone is different and I agree that you should cut carbs if you are obese and working to get off medications.
