The One Where: I Was Broker Than Broke

Because of my love for the sitcom “Friends,” my theme this month is dedicated to them. The title of every sitcom started with “The One Where.”

So yesterday was my sister’s birthday, and so many thoughts were left running in my head about her. I could go on and on about what she means to me and how funny she is. But let me tell you this, Lisa is a true Virgo!

You know the type!

They will never leave you wondering how they feel, and they give the best advice.

The truth is the truth, and they are the truth!

My go-to people are always Scorpios and Virgos. It’s like I’m drawn to their energy, and they keep me balanced. Just so happens that my husband is a Scorpio, and my beautiful sister is a Virgo.

Well, let me tell you about this Virgo

When I was in college, I was broke. I’m talking maybe $25.00 to my name. I had two jobs and would go to my army unit once a month and was still scraping for pennies. I remember going grocery shopping at Aldies, and I could barely afford anything in there. Geesh, I hate even thinking about those times. But it happened, and it’s apart of who I am and why I work so hard to be better than I once was.

During my first two years of college, I would go to my sister’s house on the weekends, and she would cook the best meals. My mouth is watering now from just thinking about all of her food. When I walked into her home, I would go straight for the kitchen to eat and tell my brother in law all about my car troubles. So he would fix all of my issues while I finished eating.

When the weekend came to an end, and I gave all my nieces hugs and kisses goodbye, my sister would do something that I will never forget. She would give me money to hold me over until my payday and a big bag of leftovers.

People can tell you they love you until they are blue in the face. But actions speak louder than words.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!
