Are you eye candy or soul food?
When I saw this quote
Too many attractive people and not enough interesting ones
Don’t be eye candy be soulfood
It made me take a look at myself and the message that I’m conveying to my clients.
Getting into shape is great
Eating healthy is great
Losing weight is great
But if your soul is trash, then so is everything else. I had to make sure that I practice what I preach, and that made me take a closer look at who I am. I have never in my life craved to be eye candy but never really thought about if I wanted to be soul food.
What does being soul food mean to you?
After further reflection, this is what it means to me.
In order to be soul food, you should have a peaceful presence, an inviting spirit. I want people to feel free to be exactly who they are and not try to change a thing for me. If there is someting that is crippling your spirit, I should be able to help you or assist you in getting the help that you need.
At certain times in my life, I failed at being soul food. I’ve disappointed people and I have hurt a few. Not at all moments that I’m proud of, and for that I’m sorry. But I will dedicate the rest of my life to being soul food.
The older I get, the more I’ve come to the realization that beauty is nonexistent without the internal glow. When you are around me, I want you to feel good, loved, and, most of all, I want your spirit to be comfortable.
