Whatever Works

Day 19 out of 30

Mind, Body and Soul Transformation

I was immediately pissed off with every jump this week. Let me explain…..

Imagine waking up and having to do whatever was barked at you to do.

Like Wake up, you’re running 2 miles and then do 60 minutes of circuit training. I’m talking pushups, planks, flutter kicks, jumping jacks, burpees, squats, walking lunges and bear crawls.

But all you really felt like doing was dancing!

Well, that’s what military life is like. You do what you are told and not necessarily what you had in mind. You just have to suck it up grin and bear it. I have to admit this is the one thing about the military that made me highly perturbed.

Don’t you like having choices?

What if you woke up that morning with a headache and didn’t feel like doing all that meaningless running. Not to mention the circuit training. I’m hardly ever in the mood for all that, especially not at 4:30 in the morning.

Because of my military experiences, I have my clients fill me in on the workouts they like.  Often times, their likes and dislikes change, and I switch it up for them so that the exercise fits their mood. I get called a bitch(jokingly) a lot when they are not feeling my groove, so I stay prepared to change our flow.

I usually have a set workout plan that we follow. Each program will last anywhere from 6-8 weeks. But very rarely does that plan play out through its entirety. Like this week, I personally was supposed to finish Insanity. But all that jumping was pissing me off, so I cized it up instead.

According to my Fitbit, I met my 10,000 daily steps, 3.5 miles, burned over 2000 calories, and was sweating like a pig.

Think I might do this next week too.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!
