I make sure I keep at least 2- 42-ounce canisters of oatmeal at my house at all times. As soon as I run out of one, I make sure I add oatmeal to my shopping list for the week.
There are so many types that are available to us.
Flavors on top of flavors and so many different ways to prepare them!
But I am hooked on one flavor and one way of cooking my oats!
When I am ready for my oats, I need to be in and out of the kitchen as fast as possible. I have a lot of things to accomplish in my morning, and the last thing I need is to spend more than 10 minutes on breakfast prep.
So my go-to is plain quick oats, and I add whatever I am in the mood for.
Lately, my style of choice has been a 1/2 cup of oats, and I just eyeball how much warm water I put in my bowl, and I heat for a minute. As soon as the microwave dings, I add a splash or two of unsweetened almond milk, half of a banana, one teaspoon of peanut butter and enjoy it while it’s hot.
