My time being a room mom is coming to a rapid end, and I don’t know how to feel about it. For the past 13 years, I have been a room mom and have organized more parties than you can imagine.
I can literally do this in my sleep!
When I was in the thick of organizing parties I would come to school on party day with a huge rolling suitcase that was filled with decorations and food.
I would decorate my daughter’s classroom and then my sons. The timing for the parties always worked out perfect and left me with plenty of time to move between classes.
By the time the party day was over, my body would just collapse from exhaustion. But I never cared how tired it would make me because the look on my baby’s faces made my heart happy.
Let me just tell you how everything would go down.
I would spend a week going to get all the games that I wanted to play, which would be about 4 for each class party. Then organize all the food, beverages, and then clean up.
My kids would beam with pride while helping me pass out all the food and games. Throughout the party, they would give me hugs. I lived for that!
So, with Mako being my last little one, I’m doing all the party planning and decorating with a huge smile on my face. I know when she enters middle school, I will hardly ever step a foot in that school. Trust me, I don’t want to! The middle schoolers are a whole new beast, and I would instead run from them.
But until I reach that chapter, I will enjoy this one I’m on.
I’ll take this 1 to go slowly and with…. pause.
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored.
