There I was minding my own business while shopping for Christmas. There he was looking for an opportunity to say something foul. I took one look at him and just knew that his style for approaching women would be off the rails.
And what do you know? I was right.
Maybe I can pick up on these things because of my age or perhaps because he was just staring entirely too hard.
I went to go move a pair of boots off of the shelf so I could take a closer look at them, and I felt him getting closer. So I put the boots back and went to the men’s section. Let me clarify I was initially looking for boots for my daughter. But I thought I should move around a bit just to see if he is following me or maybe I’m just paranoid.
Now here I am in the Men’s section looking at some casual sneakers and what do you know here comes Mr. Peek- A- Boo.
He cleared his throat and said, “Do you have a man, or do you like to wear shoes that are too big for you”?
With a straight face, I said, “yes….and yes, I like my shoes to flop around while I walk”. He chuckled and little too hard might I add. I blinked a couple of times and then walked away. I went to my original location and began to look for my daughter’s boots.
Here he comes and says with a low but frustrated tone, “That was rude to just walk away, can we have coffee at Starbucks…its right across the street”. I hesitated, then after a huge inhale and an exhale that could have blown my chihuahua away, I said, “I’m not interested in talking to you so back off and go bother someone else.”
I think that shocked him. Maybe he is used to getting ladies to talk to him quite quickly and have them fall at his feet. Well, I’m not that girl, nor have I ever been.
But it was his response that made me laugh. As he walked away, he turned around and said: “Girl, you know you want this”!
You could have chosen to read any blog, but you chose mine, and I’m honored.
