Emotional Journey

I can always tell if my clients are sticking to their diet plan. After about a week or two of eating well, sleeping more, meditating and working out regularly they start to become very emotional. You become superhuman when all these components start to work together. I’ve noticed that your senses become stronger. You start to smell the exact ingredients that are in any dish. Your vision will start to improve and your awareness of others and their intentions become more clear.

My sessions run for 1 hour per client and by the second and most definitely third week, it becomes a little longer. I’m telling you it’s like clockwork. As soon as I walk through the door it is very apparent he/she are lacking the same drive and upbeat attitude they had the prior week. My female clients require an extra 10 or sometimes 30 minutes to just vent and get the tears out. Which, I’m totally fine with because I get it. I have experienced this myself throughout my weight loss journey. It’s very important for me to inform my clients that what they are feeling is normal and should not be ashamed of expressing their feelings. I’m not here to judge but I am here to hold your hand through this entire process.

I’ll never forget the day that I walked into one of my clients home and she answered the door in tears. I barely made it in before she grabbed me and hugged me so tight I thought my lunch was going to come up and I was almost positive she was going to crack one of my ribs. She cried for over 20 minutes and the best part is she didn’t know why she was crying. She was feeling so many emotions and was so sensitive to everything. To make matters worse she started looking through old picture albums of her children and reminiscing about old times…good times, funny times and not so good times. Wishing she could pull herself back into those moments and be better. Give her kids more of her time and create happier memories.

I had to quickly pull her back in before she went any deeper. It was a difficult task but there is something about burpees that will help you forget about anything else.

The most important part of your healthy lifestyle journey isn’t necessarily obtaining a scale victory but clearing your mind. A mental cleanse can shed light on all things that you want to change but until now you were either too afraid to change or didn’t know how to. But I guarantee if you get more sleep, make healthier food choices, exercise at least 4 days a week and meditate every day for 10 minutes you will find peace and satisfaction on and off the scale. Just remember that your highly emotional phase will be quickly followed by focus and determination.

You could have chosen any blog to read but you chose mine and I’m honored
